It’s a busy week at Buzzbnk – we’re welcoming three new projects to the site this week, and first up is charity Student Hubs who work with 14,000 students and 20 national NGOs in five universities to make sure that student social action is the norm and not the exception.
Their crowdfunding project comes direct from the historic, beautiful and socially entrepreneurial city of Oxford, and it’s a fitting social venture for a city best known as our and most ancient and prestigious seat of learning (and home to a big and vibrant student community).
This summer, Student Hub’s Oxford Hub branch is moving into a new home right in the centre of the city. The new building, the first of it’s kind in the UK, will house a homely café-bar-restaurant , office space for charities and social enterprises, as well as plenty of space for students to come together to meet each other and members of the local community, hold events, hear inspiring speakers, plan their amazing projects and take action to change the world!
They need your help to create the Living Room – the heart of the hub – and, as they put it, ‘a space for our students to come and meet, eat, work, play, and share ideas and inspiration, and provide a true home away from home’.
They are trying to ensure that as much as possible will be reclaimed, refurbished and sourced from charities and social enterprises to minimise the environmental impact and maximise the social impact created by the project – Perfect.
£2,000 is their target, and they have loads of great benefits on offer including exclusive events, 3 course meals, thermos flasks and loyalty cards! Find out more and pledge your support at www.buzzbnk.org/studenthubs
